How will the wheel package affect my truck’s fuel economy?

The fuel economy on the highway at regular highway speed (65-80mph) will tend to increase up to a 5%. In city moving traffic the truck most likely consume more fuel. But, with the bigger size wheel and tire package the transmission’s gearing efficiency will increase, compared to the stock 16-17" tire set up.

What is the advantage of the 19.5”, 22.5” or 24.5” tire?

The 19.5”, 22.5” and 24.5” tires are designed for long haul applications. The tire’s weight capacity is precisely engineered for maximum performance, Providing exceptional stability and superior drainage on wet roads. Have in mind that a set of these tires can last up to 200,000 miles!
Individuals can spend $4,000 to $8,000 on tire replacements in 200,000 miles with the stock truck set up.

How will the wheel package affect the towing capacity of my truck?

Diesel wheels’ conversion kits will not degrade your trucks towing capacity in any way. Costumers can choose to go with 22.5-24.5” or 22-24” low Profile, confident that the truck's towing capacity will still perform to factory specifications.

How will the wheel package affect the load capacity of my truck?

Diesel wheels’ conversion kits do not degrade load capacity in any ¾ or 1 ton truck. With stock or lifted suspension our wheels meet or exceed the load capacities of a stock truck. Lowered trucks will negatively be affected in load capacity. Caused by the suspension’s modification not by the wheels.
Diesel wheels are designed to be used in ¾ and 1 ton trucks. Diesel Wheels holds no liability for the use of our wheels in tractor trailer/semi trucks or any truck with a load capacity exceeding that of a stock 1 ton truck.

How Complex is the Installation of the wheel/tire package?

Diesel Wheels’ conversion kits are shipped completely pre-assemble with installation instructions. Regarding, 19.5”, 22.5” and 24.5” Diesel Wheels recommends customers to true and balance the tires to ensure a vibration free ride. Diesel wheels has the appropriate equipment to provide this service for an extra fee. All 19”, 22” and 24” are shipped mounted and balance, Diesel Wheels also recommends the truing process for these tires set up.

What is Tire Truing?

Tire truing is the process of making tires perfectly round to the wheel. All tires are never perfectly round due to the manufacturing process, which creates a high spot on the tire. This condition is referred to as out-of-round. By gently shaving the high spot off of the tire, the out-of-roundness is corrected. Tire truing reduces road vibrations, extending the life of a vehicle’s tires and suspension, and also improves fuel economy.
